Farshid Zabihian has over 25 years of academic and industrial experience in the energy industry. Currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at California State University, Sacramento. With a background in mechanical engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology and Amirkabir University of Technology, Iran, he spent a decade in the energy technology industry before transitioning to academia. He obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Ryerson University, Canada, in 2011. His research focuses on sustainable energy technology, renewable energy resources, and advanced fossil fuel power plants, utilizing experimental and numerical approaches. With over 110 publications in journals, conferences, books, and book chapters, he emphasizes sustainability in his teaching at the university level.
