As a research scholar, Martin has authored over 30 research papers, presented at more than 15 conferences, and contributed to three book chapters. At Nottingham, Martin imparts knowledge on various management-related subjects to engineering students. He is particularly interested in the impact of digital technologies on business, especially in the manufacturing sector. This book marks Martin’s debut publication.
John Dominy is an Honorary Professor in the Composites Group at the University of Nottingham. John has had a long-standing career in the engineering industry since graduating from the University of Middlesex (formerly Middlesex Polytechnic) in 1974. He earned his PhD in 1980 for his work at Rolls Royce on high-speed roller bearing lubrication. John has held management roles in large (aerospace), medium (motor sport), and small (specialist composites) companies. Since 2003, he has been involved in teaching at the School of Engineering at Nottingham, primarily focusing on Management and Engineering Design. Despite being semi-retired, John remains passionate about imparting his knowledge accumulated over a career in engineering management to undergraduate students.
